仙台市秋保（あきう）にアトリエを構える海馬ガラス工房。通常の色ガラスのように人工的な色を加えることをせず、土地土地の砂の組成から抽出した自然の色合いと程よい厚みを持って整えられた美しい形が特徴です。 ここでご紹介する仙台グラスは、仙台市中心部を流れる清流、広瀬川の砂を溶かしたもの。杜の都という仙台市の愛称に相応しい落ち着いた緑色が特徴のグラスです。 ほどよい厚みと大きさで、独特のテクスチャが手に馴染む、日々の暮らしの中で思わず手が伸びてしまうグラスです。 Kaiba Glass Studio is located in Akiu, Sendai City. The glass is characterized by its natural coloring extracted from the composition of the sand of the land and its beautiful shape prepared with a good thickness, without adding artificial colors as is usually done with colored glass. The Sendai glass shown here is made of melted sand from the Hirose River, a clear stream flowing through the center of Sendai City. The glass is characterized by its calm green color, which befits the city of Sendai's nickname, "the City of Trees. With a moderate thickness and size, and a unique texture that feels comfortable in your hand, these glasses will make you reach for them unintentionally in your daily life.
