かつて日本では「手あぶり火鉢」と名付けられた小ぶりな火鉢が広く使われていました。江戸後期京焼の名陶工仁阿弥道八にはこれを猫型にした作品がありますが、「手あぶり猫」は、この猫型火鉢にヒントを得て岩手県の陶芸家本間文江が現代に甦らせたものです。一体一体作家が手づくりで制作し窯で焼いた陶芸作品で、さまざまな猫の表情をリアルに再現したユニークな置物としてだけでなく、香炉やアロマテラピーの道具としても使うことができます。 In the past, small braziers named "teaburi hibachi" were widely used in Japan. The famous late-Edo period Kyo-yaki potter Niami Michihachi made a cat-shaped version of these brazier, and the "Teaburi Neko" was inspired by this cat-shaped brazier and revived in the modern age by Iwate Prefecture potter Honma Fumie. Each piece is handmade by the artist and fired in kiln, and can be used not only as a unique figurine with realistic reproductions of various cat expressions, but also as a incense burner, or aromatherapy tool. 今までの手あぶり猫は紐づくりで作っておりましたが、こちらの作品はボディーは共通の石膏型で作って、耳や尻尾部分を後付けしています。釉がけの段階で目の部分や模様には一体一体個性を出していますので、一点ものの満足感があります。本体を型で作ってるため幾分手間が省けますのでコストダウンし、お求めやすい価格にしております。 Unlike previous "Teaburi Neko"s, which were made by hand-building techniques, the body of this work is made from a common plaster mold, and the ears and tail are added afterwards. The eyes and patterns are individually created at the glazing stage, so there is a sense of satisfaction with a one-of-a-kind piece. Since the body is made from a mold, the cost is reduced and the price is more affordable.
