Where will you ever find such a unique design? I found this fabric in a little fabric store away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Kyoto. As I began sewing, I was impressed by the silky smoothness of the fabric itself, and of the incredible detail in the digital printing. The woodblock prints are just beautiful and the texture of the wooden and woven grass sandals is so lifelike! I love unfurling these bags at the market to the surprise of the cashiers. They see me with my small purse and ask if I need a bag, then when I pull out my rolled up bag and proceed to unroll it, they are amazed that it opens up into such a large bag that can hold all my groceries! My tight 'n' tidy totes are perfect for grocery shopping or wrapping that special gift. Since it folds up into a very compact 10 x 5 cm roll, it fits perfectly in a purse or pocket so you can always have a bag with you. Laid flat, this bag measures approximately 30 x 35 x 15 cm and has gussets that let the base expand to a full 6 inches. The handles are 19 inches long (49 cm) and the groceries from my daily trek to the grocery store fit perfectly inside. This bag is unlined, sports fully enclosed seams, and has a brown elastic band sewn right on to keep it rolled up tight and tidy. Machine wash and dry regularly for years of use. Just throw it in with your regular laundry to keep it fresh and clean.
