商品の説明 AMAZONレビュー Although fusion is usually thought of as a blending of jazz and rock, many of the so-called fusion bands of the 1970s, such as Miles Davis's groups, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report and Return To Forever, actually drew less from jazz than from rock, Latin and African music. The Brecker Brothers, on the other hand, kept closer to the jazz side of the bargain, and grafted the harmonic and melodic complexity of late bebop on to funk rhythms. This collection, first issued in 1990, gathers together some of the best of the Brecker Brothers' studio work, including such spectacular charts as "Skunk Funk", "Sponge", "Squids", "Inside Out" and "Bathsheba". It happily spares us such sugary concessions to record company pressure as "Sneakin' Up Behind You" and "Finger Lickin' Good".--Mark Gilbert
