Bartok’s "Concerto for Orchestra" introduced the concept of various musicians performing as soloists as well as being the orchestra. In the concerto, the synthesizer, a solo instrument, now also creates its own ensemble since I build it a sixteen track tape recorder for company. The Kaleidophon Synthesizer includes a couple of VCS 3’s, but is basically a console of electronic modules I’ve designed since "White Noise I" to bring to life all the sounds I imagined.
