Item Description

サイズは、15,2×高さ4,8×高台径8,9cmです。経年の小傷は多少あるかと思われますが、ホツやニュウはございません。明治期の大珍品です。大変いい状態です。

幻の源六焼き嬉野で明治30年代にはじまり、昭和9年には廃業となった窯元です40年ほどしか続いていません。源六製とは明治30年代に嬉野町で富永源六によって確立された「源六焼」のことです。

明治の初めに有田付近では海外輸出用をはじめ焼き物がたくさんつくられたのですが、段々と粗悪品が多くなり、需要も減ってきます。
これを憂いた富永源六が瀬戸や京都などを視察し技術を学び、高い評価を得る「源六焼」を確立したのです。
残念ながら後継者がなく、今は廃絶しています。
